Two piece black metal band who are looking to make the most extreme music they can.

2.Recently you have released an ep, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical style you went for on the recording?

Although we wanted the music to extreme, we also wanted you to be able to hear everything. In my heads we went for a vocal style of In The Nightside Eclipse, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas and the music was more in the vein of Organic Hallucinosis.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you have explored so far with your music?

Metal breakdown, other reality's, corrupt institutions.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Horoma Exordium'?

It's latin for "Being Of A Vision". Seemed fitting from our discussion to then the band to life.

5.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the ep cover?

Will leave it open for interpretation.

6.Currently there are only 2 embers in the band, are you open to expanding the line up or do you prefer to remain a duo?

Yes will always be just us two.

7.I have read that the band has no plans to ever do any live shows, can you tell us a little bit more about this decision?

I have 100 percent respect for bands to record and tour the world. For us its just about making the music we want to make, when we want to make it.

8.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?

We are signed with Ordo Nocturnal. They got what we were about. Always open to working with other labels who can help push the band.

9.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?

Its a slow build. But its been cool connecting with people all over the world. At the same we don't care if people don't like it, but people have taken the time to message us, we will message back. Always.

10.When can we expect a full length and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

Yea have an album worth of songs there. Will do a single track next.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Older black metal and death metal bands.

Necroroots/Self Titled/Silentium In Foresta Records/2019 EP Review

Necroroots  are  a  duo  from  Mexico  that  plays  an  old  school  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  titled  2018  ep  which  was  released  by  Silentium  In  Foresta  Records.

A  very  dark  sounding  intro  starts  off  the  ep  before  going  into  a  heavier  musical  direction  while  the  vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams.  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  and  blast  beats  can  also  be  heard  during  the  faster  sections  of  the  music.

When  tremolo  picking  is  utilized  it  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling  and  throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  some  of  the  riffing  also  adds  in  a  good  amount  of  dark  sounding  melodies  along  with  the  songs  also  bringing  in  a  great  amount  of 90's  influences.

When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  melodic  style  while  keyboards  can  also  be  heard  in  the  background  briefly  but  are  over  powered  by  the  guitars.  Clean  playing  can  also  be  heard  on  one  of  the  tracks  and  as  the  ep  progresses  a  small  amount  of  demonic  voices  are  also  added  onto  the  recording.  The  production  sounds  very  raw  and  old  school  while   the  lyrics  cover  the  mind  liberation  of  religion.

In  my  opinion  Necroroots  are  a  very  great  sounding  old  school  black  metal  duo  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Chosen  One"  and  "Legions  Of  Death".  8  out  of  10.

Deorc Absis/The Nothingness Transfiguration/Redefining Darkness Records/2019 EP Review

Deorc  Absis  are  a  band  from  Italy  that  plays  a  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2019  ep  "The  Nothingness  Transfiguration"  which  will  be  released  in  May  by  Redefining  Darkness  Records.

Dark  soundscapes  start  off  the  ep  along  with  some  synths  a  few  seconds  later  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  brutal  musical  direction  which  also  uses  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats.  Vocals  also  bring  in  a  great  mixture  of  both  death  metal  growls  and  black  emtal  screams  and  all  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  dissonant  and  technical  sounding  along  with  the  songs  also  bringing  in  a  great  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  When  tremolo  picking  is  utilized  it  also  gives  the  songs  more  of  a  raw  feeling  and  synths  are  also  utilized  on  the  other  tracks.

Deorc  Absis  plays  a  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  that  is  very  raw,  brutal,  dissonant,  technical  and  atmospheric  sounding.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  and  philosophical  themes.

In  my  opinion  Deorc  Absis  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  black  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Metamorphosis".  8  out  of  10.

Kull Interview

Interview with Jonny Maudling.

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

- Well basically the band members are the same as Bal-Sagoth ,with the exception of the main vocalist and lyric writer Byron.
So with Kull frontman Tarkan, there are new stories and settings with the lyrics he has brought, and the actual music writing team is the same as before, namely myself and my Brother Chris.

2.Your first album is coming out towards the end of April, musically how does it differ from the stuff you had released with Bal Sagoth?
  -  Musically it's a further progression of that format. Naturally you don't want to repeat yourself, and also there are a few new things both in production and song writing

3.Most of the band members where a part of 'Bal Sagoth', what was the decision behind disbanding the group and forming a new one?
- Many reasons, its just the place we all found ourselves after a number of years, so we left the Bal-Sagoth thing behind, and it was time to try something slightly different.

4.Can you tell us a little bit more about the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores on the newer release?
-It has much to do with history, stories  created by Tarkan , who has a large body of work to draw upon, and it still deals with myths and the fantastic.

5.Most of Bal Sagoth's lyrics focused on science fiction, fantasy, mythology and the occult, are you also continuing those topics with the newer band?
- Yes, you could say its the same genre, but the stories are completely different.

6.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Kull'?
- The names "Bal-Sagoth" and "Kull" come from the author R.E Howard, so it seemed appropriate enough and was in keeping with what we do.

7.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?
- That was done by a guy called "maggotmeister" from All Things Rotten. The "painting" was from his catalogue of work which fitted perfectly with this album.

8.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?
- With Kull there has been one professional engagement, and that was in York a few years ago. It was kind of a warm up gig to see how we worked together live.

9.Do you have any touring or show plans once the new album is released?
- Yes, as soon as the album is out, there will be more information about this.

10.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your newer music by fans of black metal that have heard it so far?
- Obviously great interest, and many people have compared the sound to Bal-Sagoth. As I said before, it will sound  similar because it is the same music writing and production team.

11.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
- I have no idea. I don't plan it like that, I just try to create and produce the best music I possible can, and hope it all fits together with the stories and lyrics.

12.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
- I like good song writing and creative imagination, the style really is irrelevant to me.

13.What are some of your non musical interests?
- Hill walking, outdoor pursuits, cycling, video games, studio technology, cosmology etc

14.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
- Just thanks for everyones Patience and support so far, and hope you really like the Kull debut. Cheers!!
-Jonny Maudling.

Comingforever Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the musical project?
Hello, yeah of course. Comingforever is my solo-project where I put some ideas that I have in mind and would not fit at all in other projects in which I am involved. It started a few years ago when me and my friends wanted to create new projects based on the primitive-old-metal-sound (to give it a name) of the 80's and 90's; each one of us did a new solo-project and started to recording new songs, they're not playing anymore but if you want, I can send you great tracks they recorded. I do everything in my house, there I record and produce everything.

2.So far you have released a split and a full length, musically how do they both differ from each other?
I think there is not much difference in sound, I worked on both albums in the same year and I believe that it was in a very short time lapse between song and song. Initially in fact, all the songs were going to belong to the same album.

3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects you have explored so far with the music?
Well, I do not consider myself someone offensive or aggressive, I prefer peace above all else; in these songs I speak about the hypocrisy of religions (and people in general), the illness that causes and the way they blind us. I also talk about the planet and how we should avoid the destruction of it. I would like to talk about the history and rights of animals in the future.

4.There has been no music released since 2016, can you tell us a little bit more about what has been going on during this time frame?
I have composed so many songs, speaking of comingforever and my other solo projects too. In fact, this week (April 26) I'm re-releasing a forgotten single, it's a sound sooo different and distant from sunburst; I do not think it can even be considered blackmetal (or even metal), however, it was a very important track for me. I composed it with the help of a very good friend who is no longer with us and wanted to launch it again. It’s called ‘insulation’ and you can listen to it on spotify and all music platforms.

5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Comingforever'?
I wanted to create an abstract name, but also something easy to pronounce. I do not remember where those two words came from but it was like 'hell yeah, this is the name'. For me, it's like a reminder that something good will happen.

6.Originally the musical project started out in Mexico but the facebook page has the current location as being Australia, can you tell us a little bit more about the move?
I actually live in Mexico hahaha, I changed the location I do not remember why haha.

7.With this project you record everything by yourself, are you open to working with other musicians or do you prefer to work solo?
I am always open to collaborate! I like to make music, of any style. I've been playing music for as long as I can remember, I started with piano, then drums, then the guitar. Whoever wants to make music, is welcome in my studio even if he does not know how to play anything!

8.You have also shared a split with 'No Peafowls', what are your thoughts on the other musical project that had participated on the split?
He is a good friend, (in fact, I run Cuerpo Records with him). I met him when I wanted to release a vaporwave album under his label, Empty Records (label dedicated to put out electronic-experimental-underground music). His (no peafowls) music is very different from Comingforever, it has more layers of noise and much more experimental tunes. I admire him.

9.So far all of your music has been released on 'Cuerpo Records', can you tell us a little bit more about this label?
When I started making music with comingforever, I was sure that maybe any label was going to put some interest on my music. Especially because I did not have many contacts in the industry and I did not want to have any musical genre nor established standards either ideologically or aesthetically, I wanted to create something where did not matter who you were or how you looked, but what you had to tell and show the world with your music.

10.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?
I think I'm under the radar of bm fans, as I have estimated hahaha, I have no problem with that, but of course, I would like to have a little more reach.

11.When can we expect another release and also where do you see yourself heading into as a musician in the future?
I've played live two times, the first one in an experimental music show in Monterrey, Mexico (next to No Peafowls in fact), it was very strange but pleasant. The second time in a blackmetal show in my city, I'm not sure how it was taken by the most true metalheads of the guild, some laughed at me I'm sure of that hahaha, but I liked the reaction of the general public.

12.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
I think Darkthrone is the main influence, I try to get influence from a feeling. Something that can be transmitted, something you can feel or think about, a place; something present from the way I record and compose to the way in which the final mix ends. In the future I would like to make even more raw recordings. I also rely on a lot on the metal of the 80's and 90's. But to be honest, I listen to everything, from heavy metal to indiepop, I have no problem with that.

13.What are some of your non musical interests?
I really like soccer, retro computer games, tabletop rpg, podcasts (in fact I have one, where I talk about daily life and the world in a very relaxed way), graphic design (that's what I do for a living).

14.Before we wrap up this interview. do you have any final words or thoughts?
First of all thank you for the time and space and above all, the interest you put on my music. I'm glad to find spaces like this to spread the word about my music. Let's listen to some new (and old) music! In the end it is what really counts!

Gates To The Morning Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

The band started out as a one man project back in 2008 or so.  I was recording an album at my home studio under the same name of Gates To The Morning, although is was much more pure second-wave black metal at the time.  Half way through the recording process the files somehow got corrupted, and I had to either start over or give up.  I chose to give up on it because I was preparing for jazz auditions for Colleges at the time, so there was no way I could divide my time.  Fast forward to late 2016 and I started accumulating material again and decided I had to do something with it.  It was only supposed to be a studio project but it has just kept growing and now we are getting ready to play live shows this coming July and finally release our debut album ‘Return To Earth"

2.You have your first full length coming out in June, can you tell us a little bit more about the musical style you went for on the recording?

The record actually drops July 19th, 2019 but physical copies will be available at the shows we play during our east coast tour a week prior to that.  The musical style on the recording is really an amalgamation of everything I love, particularly within the realm of metal.  The idea was to create a really keyboard-driven black metal album, but I wisely kept my mind open and let the music be what it needed to be.  By the time the album was fully written, I needed other people to tell me what the genre or style was.  I just called it Progressive Metal but I knew that fell short of an accurate description.  It wasn’t until I started working with a guy named Matt Bacon who told me it was “Post-Black Metal.”  That was just a few months ago back in January 2019.  I had never really heard the term before so I just trusted him with it.  Hopefully the album is hard to categorize, I think that is a good thing as long as it is done in a cohesive way.

3.The lyrics on the new album are a concept album, can you tell us a little bit more about the story you covered on the album?

The concept of the album is about being on a "spiritual path.”  I think often that term is very misconstrued and misunderstood.  For me personally, my “spiritual induction” , if you will, came at age 17 and it was very tumultuous and difficult.  I didn’t quite understand what was happening to me and I often felt like I was going insane.  However, the kind of wild part about it is I wouldn’t change anything from that. (Well, maybe a few things)  Part of the process was realizing that everything happening to me was necessary for the evolution of my soul, no matter how adverse it may seem.  I think most people go through this phase at some point, whether in this life-time or one of the next incarnations, because eventually your soul asks for it.  “Dark Night of the Soul” a phrase termed by St. John of the Cross describes very well what I have gone through, and am still going through.  “Chapel Perilous” is a term popularized by Robert Anton Wilson that also accurately conveys my experiences, as well as “Crossing the Abyss”, a term used by Kabbalists. The album is about my journey on this path, which has been crushing, confusing, beautiful and enlightening and just about everything in between.  This album encaptures all of that for me.  The idea of ‘Return To Earth” was a message I received along the way that told me to be here and be human.  At some point I basically wanted to astral project myself to the stars and get the fuck off this planet, but I realized that all my work was to be done here, and perhaps my greatest challenge is to simply be human for a while.

4.Originally the band started out as a solo project, what was the decision behind expanding into a full line up?

I enjoyed doing the bulk of the work for the album, but I always had plans to include a few other musicians on the record.  They are musicians I have known for a long time and had played with in other musical outfits.  I deeply trusted all of them and they enhanced the music so greatly, it is safe to say this record would not be what it is without all of them.  The only musician I hadn’t known for at least some period of time was Meg Moyer, who was a recommendation of Kevin Antreassian, the engineer for the record.  I had a very particular vision of what I wanted the female vocals to sound like and she fit it perfectly, it was meant to be.  Ædan McEvoy was a friend that I attended college with, and we were both music majors.  All the other guys I have known since my early teenage years and are dear friends.  Then of course when we decided to put together a live band so I had completely left behind the idea of a solo project.

5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Gates to The Morning'?

"Gates of Morning" is a J.R.R. Tolkien reference.  Not much is written of it, but from what we do know according to Tolkien, the sun re-enters the world through the Gates of Morning and exits through the Door of Night. This is all highly symbolic to me.  The Gates of Morning are the promise that there is hope, and though it is necessary to pass through that Door Of Night, the Gates of Morning always await us.  It is a necessary beacon of hope for me. It also symbolizes rebirth.  I can recall from a particularly difficult ayahuasca ceremony I had participated in, the “Shaman” or facilitator of the ceremony said something along the lines of “I know it’s dark, and feels like it may never end, but the sun will come up in the morning.”  I think that sums things up pretty well.  I changed the name slightly to Gates “To The” Morning because it represented a more ongoing process and a journey.

6.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?

The artwork for “Return To Earth” was one of the last things to come together conceptually for the album.  I was struggling to come up with the artwork for some time and Mark Glaser, who plays lead guitars on the record, encouraged me not to settle for something I wasn’t in love with.

One night I was going through old photos I had saved on my computer and  I stumbled across this beautiful picture. I knew immediately it was going to be the album cover.  The album was already entitled “Return To Earth” and that theme is extremely apparent in the picture.  The winter time theme was important as we have a couple odes to winter on the album such as “Two Winters” and “Freezing The Sundials.”  Another song is titled “Rekindled” and we see the mother earth type figure (that Meg Moyer’s vocals on the record symbolize) decorated with fire as she returns to earth.  She is waking up after a long winter to return to earth.  All the music and song titles were already set in stone before I even found the picture. Of course, there are no coincidences.

The next dilemma was finding the artist. I had seen it used on a few different websites but none of them credited the artist.  It took me at least a month to find out it was from Jesper Alvermark, who is a visual artist from Sweden. The female was a picture of a model and then Jesper touched it up along with some other stock images.  I’m very grateful that he allowed me to use the artwork, it means a lot to me personally.

7.I heard that the band is planning to do their first live shows later this year, do you have any shows line up yet?

Yes we do!  We will be doing a couple shows in Brooklyn, one in Philadelphia and one in Northern New Jersey in July.  I am really excited to announce some of the bands we are playing with so stay tuned , that announcement is coming very soon.

8.Currently you are unsigned, are you looking for a label or have received any interest?
We are currently looking for a label.  The idea is that we have a very solid record that we feel great about, and now we just want to play a few live shows and once we do we will have a very complete press kit to send out to labels, so that process will begin soon.

9.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of post black metal that have heard it so far?

Once again, I am pretty new to the term “Post-Black Metal” and we have been compared to bands I’ve never even heard of before, but I am totally fine with that.  The overall reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, which is part of the reason I’ve been encouraged to pursue this further.  I have heard from people in the U.S. as well as internationally who really enjoy what they have heard so far, and that been very encouraging.  I am only just beginning to target the “Post-Black Metal” audience because I have just recently discovered it, but I am finding fans of all types of music are enjoying it.  We fit a lot of different sounds on the record and I am proud that it has been done in a cohesive way that is authentic and not forced.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
In the near future, I think the different sounds we have touched upon on “Return To Earth” still have a lot more depth to be explored.  I basically have the skeleton of the next album already written and it seems like a natural followup to our debut.  In the more distant future I can see this project going just about anywhere.  My musical tastes are very eclectic and so are the rest of the bands’, so I would say nothing would be surprising down the road, because we are capable of exploring so many avenues.  I could envision us doing a more folk/acoustic type of record at some point, as well a more pure 2nd wave black metal EP, or a perhaps a death metal EP in the vein of Nile and Decapitated, or a more progressive route and even paying homage to classics such as Yes and King Crimson.  The doors are wide open for the future, and I am not afraid to explore any and all avenues as long as it happens organically and authentically.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

It is hard to nail down exactly who has inspired me because I, and the rest of the band are all over the map with our influences.  But to give you something to work with I think some of the sounds that come through on “Return To Earth” are Novembre, Extol, Arcturus, Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, Yes, Old Man’s Child, Windir and Eucharist.  There is even one song on the record I think sounds like the Deftones.  Lately I have been listening to a lot of Post-Black Metal ever since I’ve been told we have that sound so I have been enjoying Alcest a lot.  Another band I have been grateful to stumble across is Eneferens, they are fantastic and I think everyone should check them out.  I’ve listened to their whole catalog recently.  Jazz is always in the rotation too, Brian Blade and The Fellowship band is among my favorites and I’ve been also listening to a lot of Bill Frisell lately.

12.What are some of your non musical interests?
Life experiences, the ebb and flow of life. Tolkien has always been and will always be a HUGE influence on me, and on a related note I am highly interested in doing research on Atlantis.  Yoga and meditation are very important practices to me and their teachings are an influence.  Mysticism and Occultism fall under that same umbrella as well.  Plant Medicines, Shamanic practices.  I have recently discovered how deeply important Norse mythology is to me, not just on a level of fascination and wonder, but on a practical and applied spiritual level. And of course, Nature.

13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

Keep an eye out for us, we plan on doing a lot of interesting things.  Collectively as a band we all have a lot to say and a lot to offer, and we are excited to have it come to light.  You can check us out at www.gatestothemorning.com and from there we have links to all of our social media and bandcamp, etc.  July will be a big month for us, so stay tuned.  Thank you!

Calyx Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

Calyx was born on 2013 by Fantoni and Humungus, two teenagers obsessed by Bathory albums. Our lifes were all about hanging out through ruins and catacombs on Fridays with our friends, with high doses of beer. That was our main inspiration. We wanted to create rusty and putrid music to channel our visions. Some years later Huarte and SD came into the band, and with their twisted minds they helped to define Calyx’s decrepit style.

2.You have your first full length coming out in May, musically how does it differ from your previous demos?

Musically it has been a huge progression since our beginnings, on a technical, songwriting and lyrical levels. We wanted to make faster songs but without loosing those slow and tormenting interludes. The aura of Calyx is still decrepit and haunting.

3.Some of your lyrics deal with the Middle Ages and Native Legends of the Iberian Peninsula, can you tell us a little bit more about your interest in those topics?

Is hard to explain in a rational way. We want to express an atavic feeling that is deep within us and this music is the only way to do it. Ruins and legendary places of Iberian Peninsula (specially Aragon) are the essence of Calyx. We always use our imagination, instead of writing history lessons, because we want to create our own universe. Lyrics have a poetic atmosphere inspired by authors like G.A Becquer and Garcilaso de la Vega, among others.

4.What are some of the other lyrical topics and subjects you have explored so far with the music?

I always try to dive inside the darkest vortex of my soul. Sometimes i let the passion of the moment drive me and others i take inspiration from dreams or meditations about the true evil of the ineligible world. I dont aim to foment evilness, but to describe it just as i perceive it. Sometimes is a really painful experience which can drive me to a state of existential fear, but is necessary.

5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Calyx'?

Calyx means chalice in latin language. The symbolism of the chalice has an esoteric nature which is linked to our inner search. Christians use it for their eucharisty, but the magic properties of this symbol has an older and mysterious origin. Is a paradox between light and darkness, equilibrium, metaphysical knowledge, cosmic order... for me is the symbol for the spiritual warrior’s goal.

6.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?

It was painted by our good friend Gaueko, composer in Aehrebelsethe and guitars for the death metal band Sepulchral. The album cover is full of symbolism of many kinds, such as paganism or the concept of the album’s name. With ‘’Vientos Archaicos’’ we refer to our passion with the ancient world, but also to a nostalgic feeling for the old times of black metal. This said, i prefer everyone have their our conclusions and use their imagination.

7.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?

We have played three gigs so far and all of them were a great experience. I will always remember our first gig in Llodio by the iniciatic atmosphere we felt. In our gigs, old school is our thing: Spikes, leather and chains. You will never see us wearing bed sheets or that kind of shit, we prefer to terrorize the audience with our ugly faces (laughs).

8.Do you have any touring or show plans once the new album is released?

We have some gigs in our area on June, but we would like to play outside Spain. We are open to any offer to play anywhere in the world.

9.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal?

We aren’t a very well-known band so i dont know the reactions of the people beyond our closest contacts.

10.Are any of the band members currently involved with any other bands or musical projects these days?

SD: Im involved within OMINOUS TORMENT and DESECRATION RITES, both personal Black Metal projects of mine, more in the negative side of the genre. I play guitar in SLAUGHTERCULT too, a Black/Thrash band where we are working in our first demo.

11.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

These days we are composing new songs for the next album. We wish to keep creating and going further inside our inner being to crystallize our visions through music.

12.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

The bands that had most impact on us are Bathory, Celtic Frost, Tormentor, early Satyricon, Darkthrone, Desaster, Burzum, etc. Of course we are huge maniacs of traditional Heavy Metal... Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Exciter, and all that musical bagaje of every young metalhead. We listen to all kinds of music beyond metal too

13.How would you describe your views on Paganism and Occultism?

Personally i conceive paganism as a way of communication with the invisible side of nature. Occultism pretends to achieve this conexión through a transgression which breaks with the parameters established by matter, trying to transcend them in order to get spiritual empowering.

Concerning neopaganism and its diverse ways, i think it is the product of a feeling of inner emptiness of the modern man who tries to fill it with something that official religions cannot give. The problem is that most times is only about the superficial elements of paganism without reaching its deep essence. So is important to distinguish real paganism from modern and consumist spiritual products, because the last ones arent a good channeling for the inner confusion we feel. The way is to actualize and rebuild the transcendentalist cosmovisions of ancient traditions, and not to be conform by mere futile matters painted with aesthetics of the past.

14.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

Thanks a lot for this interview and greetings to all those apostates of the modern world.

Chiral/The Twilight Songs(Part One)/Heathen Tribes/2018 EP Review

Italy's  solo  project  Chiral  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  him  temporary  moving  away  from  his  atmospheric  black  metal  style  to  focus  more  on an  acoustic  and  experimental  form  of  folk  music  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2018  ep  "The  Twilight  Songs(Part  One)"  which  was  released  by  Heathen  Tribes.

Field  recordings  start  off  the  ep  before adding  some  acoustic  guitars  onto  the  recording  which  also  brings  in  elements  of  folk  music  along  with  the  only  track  on  this  ep  being  over  30  minutes.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  experimental  sounding  along  with  some  slide  guitars  also  being  added  into  some  parts  of  the  song.

Melodic  chants  can  also  be  heard  in  some  parts  of  the  track  while  the  acoustic  guitars  also  bring  in  a  good  mixture  of  full  chords  and  finger  picking.  As  the  song  progresses  the  music  also  starts  incorporating  more  programmed  beats  and  synths  and  towards  the  end  a  brief  use  of  harmonica's  can  also  be  heard.  Most  of  the  music  is  instrumental  and  the  production  sounds  very  dark.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Chiral  and  while  the  music  is  not  in  the  black  metal  style  as  previous  releases,  I  can  still  see  fans  of  neo-folk  enjoying  this  ep.  8  out  of  10.
