Calvary/Veins Like Wine/Into Endless Chaos Records/2026 SPlit Album Review

This  is  a  review  of  a  split  album b etween U.S.A's  Calvary  and  Veins  Like  Wine  which  will  be  released  on  November  24th  by  into  Endless  Chaos  Records  and  we  will  start  off  the  review  with  Calvary  a  duo  that  plays  a  raw  mixture  of  black  metal  and  post  punk.

Their  side  of  the  split  starts  out  with  some  programmed  beats  and  synths  before  going  into  a  very  fast  and  raw  musical  direction  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Elements  of  post  punk  are  also  used  at  times  and  the  clear  vocals  are  one  in  more  of  goth  and  deathrock  style.

Throughout  their  side  of  the  split  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in a  melodic  style  and  the  songs  also  avoid  the  use  of  harsh  vocals  and  screams,  clean  playing  is  added  on  the  closing  track.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  melancholy  themes.

In  my  opinion  Calvary  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  raw  black  metal,  post  punk  and  deathrock  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  duo.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Lux  Crucis"  and  "Non  Nobis  Domine".

Next  up  is  Veins  Like  Wine  a  solo  project  that  plays  a  mixture  of  raw  black  metal,  post  punk  and  deathrock.

His  doe  of  the  split  starts  out  with  a  very  fast  and  raw  sound  which  also  utilizes  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.  Bass  guitars  are  also  used  as  a  lead  instrument  while  the  clear  vocals  bring  in  more  of  a  goth  and  deathrock  style  and  the  music  also  adds  in  elements  of  post  punk.

The  music  also  avoids  the  use  of  harsh  vocals  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in  a  lo-fi  atmosphere  at  times  and  all  of  the  tracks  also  stick  to  mostly  a  faster  direction  as  well  as  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  mid  tempo  sections,  synths  are  also  added  towards  the  end.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  and  raw  while  the  lyrics  cover  poetic  themes.

In  my  opinion  Veins  Like  Wines  is  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  raw  black  metal,  post  punk  and  deathrock  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  solo  project.  RECOMMENDED  TRACK  "Through  Death,  Sunflower  Fields".

In  conclusion  I  feel  this  is  a  very  great  sounding  split  and  i  would  recommend  it  to  all  fans  of  raw  black  emtal,  post  punk  and  deathrock.  8 out  of  10.
