Blood Storm are a band from Pennsylvania that plays occult black metal with a thrash edge and this is a review of their 1996 album "Death By The Stormwizard" which was released as a joint effort between Nightfall and Terrorizer Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars, as for the keyboard and effects when they are utilized they bring a very dark and ritualistic sound to the music.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very heavy and brutal sounding with some influences from death and thrash metal and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding and high pitched black metal screams that have a thrash feeling to them along with some deep demonic growls, while the lyrics cover Rhyleth Text, Cabala, Atlantian, Sorcery and Necromancy, as for the production it has a very dark, heavy, raw and primitive sound to it with some of the songs being very long and epic in length while there are still some shorter ones.
In my opinion Blood Storm are a very great sounding heavy, raw and primitive sounding occult black metal band with a thrash edge and if you are a fan of this style of music, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Yuggothian Slayers" "Serpent Of The Icecross" "Crypts Of Sorcery" and "Calling Lands Of Blood Storm". RECOMMENDED BUY.
