Borgne are a band from Switzerland that has been featured before in this zine with a musical style that I would describe as being atmospheric/industrial black metal and this is a review of their 2012 album "Royaume des Ombres" which was released by Sepulchral Productions.
Drums ranges from slow mid paced to fast playing with some blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the synths and sound bring an atmospheric sound to the music with elements of ambient and industrial music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast ambient black metal riffs that utilize a great amount of dark sounding melodies in the riffing as well as some raw and primitive parts with the songs being very long and epic in length, while the lead guitars are very primitive and melodic sounding black metal guitar leads, as for the acoustic guitars when they are utilized they use full chords to enhance the darkness that is coming out of the music..
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams with some choirs being utilized in the background at times as well as a brief use of deep demonic growls, while the lyrics cover darkness, violence and death, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion this is another great recording from Borgne and if you where a fan of their previous releases, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "In The Realm Of The Living Im Dead" and "The Last Thing That You Will See". RECOMMENDED BUY.
