Lord are a band from France that played a very atmospheric form of satanic black metal on this release and this is a review of their 1998 album "Behind The Curtain Of Darkness" which was released by Eldethorn Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being utilized at times, while the keyboards bring a very epic and atmospheric sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very basic and simple sounding with some dark sounding melodies being thrown into the riffing and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams with some clean singing and spoken word parts being utilized at times, while the song lyrics cover Satanism, Sorcery and Darkness, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it along with a mixture of short and long songs.
In my opinion Lord created some great sounding atmospheric satanic black metal with this recording and if you are a fan of this style of music, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Into Hell's Well" "When Funeral Pyres Ablaze The Black Moon Sky" "Under The Spell Of The Diabolical Sorcerer" and "Gates To The Blazing Kingdom". RECOMMENDED BUY.
