Weapon are a band from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that plays satanic, occult black metal metal with elements of thrash and death metal and this is a review of their 2009 album "Drakonian Paradigm" which was released by the Ajna Offensive.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music mixed in with some ritualistic sounding percussion, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful sound with heaving riffing that dominates throughout the recording, as for the sitars when they are utilized they bring a Middle Eastern feeling to the music in addition there is a brief use of pianos and synths which bring a very dark and atmospheric sound to the music.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that utilize a great amount of dark sounding melodies, thrash, death metal and middle eastern music influences, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding guitar solos that bring in elements of traditional music and rock music, as for the classical guitars when they are utilized they use finger picking and full chords to enhance the darkness that is coming out of the music with a both a 6 and a 12 string guitar being employed .
Vocals range from black/death metal screams and growls mixed in with some shouting vocals that bring a thrash feeling to the music as well as a brief use of chanting being utilized on the last song, while the lyrics cover Satanism, Luciferian, Middle Eastern occultism, Kali Worship, Cabala, and Anti Muslim themes, as for the production it has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording with some of the songs being long and epic in length.
in my opinion Weapon are a very great sounding satanic, occult black metal band with elements of death and thrash metal and if you are a fan of this style of music, you should check out this recording.
