Isegrim where a band from Germany that played a very raw and primitive form of satanic black metal and this is a review of their 2000 album "Dominus Infernus Ushanas" which was released by Massacre Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very raw and primitive sounding with a great amount of dark sounding melodies being thrown into the riffing that capture alot of atmosphere without having to resort to keys or synths as well as a brief use of clean and soft playing in addition there are also some thrash influences being utilized at times, while the lead guitars when they are utilized are very primitive sounding black metal guitar solos and leads that utilize some melody.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding and high pitched black metal screams mixed in with some deep death metal growls and a brief use of clean singing viking vocals, while the lyrics cover Satanism, Luciferian, Occult, Anti Christian and Black Metal themes, as for the production it has a very dark, heavy, raw and primitive sound to it with some of the songs being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion Isegrim where a very great sounding raw and primitive satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Witches Of The Northern Lights" "Blasphemous Hymns" and "A Fistfuck Of Black Metal". RECOMMENDED BUY.
