Koboloris are a duo from the United Kingdom that plays a very dark and atmospheric from of black metal and this is a review of their self titled 2012 ep which was released by III Rooks Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown into the music at times, while the synths bring a very dark ambient and atmospheric sound to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very strong and powerful sound with heavy riffing that dominates throughout the recording.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very dark, raw and primitive sounding with a good amount of melody being thrown into the riffing as well as some death metal influences, while the lead guitars are very melodic sounding guitar solos and leads.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding and high pitched black metal s creams, while the lyrics cover dark and occult topics, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it while you can still hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Koboloris are a very great sounding dark, heavy and atmospheric sounding black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Malign Inspiration" and "Astral Gate To The Infernal". RECOMMENDED BUY.
