Belfegor are a band from Poland that plays a very heavy, brutal, raw and primitive form of cold, blasphemous black metal and this is a review of their 2002 album "The Work of Destruction" which was released by Empire Records.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a great amount of brutal sounding blast beats being thrown into the music, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very heavy, brutal, raw and primitive sounding in the mid 90's to early 2000's tradition and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording
Vocals are mostly grim sounding and high pitched black metal screams with a brief spoken word part, while the lyrics cover winter, nature, blasphemous and demonic themes, as for the production it has a very heavy, brutal, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Belfegor are a very great sounding heavy, brutal, raw and primitive sounding cold and blasphemous black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "In The Name Of The Blasphemer" "Loneliness Amidst My Wrath" "Winter Storm" and "Holy Whores burning Virgins". RECOMMENDED BUY.
