Corpse are a band from Texas that plays a very raw and primitive form of old school black metal and this is a review of their self released 2012 demo.
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being utilized at times, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast old school black metal riffs that are very heavy, dark, raw and primitive sounding in the 90's tradition and there are little to no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding and high pitched black metal screams that utilize a depressive tone at times as well as some deep growls, while the lyrics cover violent and hateful themes, as for the production it has a very dark, old school, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Corpse are a very great sounding old school, raw and primitive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "One" and "Three"". RECOMMENDED BUY.
