Marnost are a band from the Czech Republic that plays an atmospheric, noise and crust influenced form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2011 demo "Pukajici Svet CSS".
Drums range from slow to mid paced to fast playing with some blast beats being utilized at times, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow to mid paced atmospheric black metal riffs that utilize some crust and noise influences as well as some melody, raw and primitive elements in the riffing along with a brief use of clean playing and there are no guitar solos or leads present present on this recording, as for the acoustic guitars when they are utilized they use full chords and finger picking to enhance the atmospheric elements of the recording as well as mixing in some synth effects.
Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams that have a depressive tone to them at times as well as some spoken word parts and clean singing, while the lyrics are based on a William Blake poem, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it with the only song being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion Marnost are a very great sounding crust influenced, atmospheric, raw and primitive black metal band and if you are a fan of t his musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED BUY.
