Vassafor are a band from New Zealand that plays a very occult form of black metal with elements of doom and other extreme genres and this is a review of their self released 2013 live ep "KFJC live to air".
Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being utilized at times, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast old school black metal riffs that use some aw and primitive elements as well as doom and death metal influences to create a sound of their own, while the lead guitars are very dark sounding black/death metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams along with some deep demonic growls, while the lyrics cover darkness and occult themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it with the songs being recorded live.
In my opinion Vassafor are a very great sounding occult black metal band with elements of dark death and doom metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this live ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Obsidian King" and "Craft Of Dissolution". RECOMMENDED BUY.
