Ophiuculus where a 1 man band from the Netherlands that played a hybrid of occult black metal, noise, avant garde and gabber and this is a review of their self released 2010 album "Nihilistic Cosmic Concept" which was originally recorded in 1998.
Drum programming ranges from slow, mid paced to fast beats, while the sound effects, synths, and programming bring elements of noise, experimental, classical, noise, gabber and avant garde to the recording, as for the rhythm guitars they are very raw and primitive sounding black metal riffs along with a brief use of noisy and melodic sounding black metal guitar solos and leads.
Vocals are mostly spoken word samples mixed in with some grim sounding black metal screams as well as a brief use of deep demonic growls, while the song themes death, occultism and violent concepts, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it with some of the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion Ophiuculus are a very great sounding hybrid of occult black metal, noise, avant garde and gabber and if you are a fan of those musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Deathrape Therapy" "Filthy Black Souled" "Nihilistic Cosmic Concept" and "Nightmare Existence Forever". RECOMMENDED BUY.
