Cold Frozen Grave are a 1 man band from Portland, Oregon that plays a very depressive form of black metal and this is a review of their 2013 ep "Frigid Stormwinds" which was released by Glossalia Records.
Drum programming ranges from slow to mid paced beats, while the sound effects bring in the sounds of wind and nature to the music, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars range from slow to mid paced depressive black metal riffs that utilize some raw and primitive sounding elements as well as repetitive riffing throughout the ep as well as a brief use of dark sounding melodies and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals are all grim sounding depressive black metal screams, while the lyrics cover nature and depressive themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound with the 2 songs being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion Cold Frozen Grave are a very great sounding depressive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should c heck out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Bound In Frigid Ground". RECOMMENDED BUY.
