This is a review of a split album between Phillipine's Deiphago and Southern California's Ritual Combat a band that also had their debut album reviewed my this zine with the mini lp being called "Accept The Mark" and released by Iron Bonehead productions in 2013 and we will start off the review with Deiphago a band that plays play bestial black/death metal.
"Beast Of Annihilation" starts off with primitive war metal guitar riffing, blast drums and bestial black/death metal growls and screams with the song only slowly down for a few seconds before going to being fast and after a while a chaotic and primitive black/death metal guitar solos makes its way in the song for a few seconds which also leads to some brief mid paced sections before going fast again and closing with a guitar lead.
"The Last Slaughter" which is also a Sarcofago cover starts off with some primitive riffing which leads to blast beats and war metal screams and growls and after awhile it slows down for a few seconds and mixing in some dark and heavy riffing before returning to a faster direction along with some old school black/thrash style screams and primitive guitar leads while focusing more on the rhythm elements as well as going back to the slow parts and guitar leads towards the end and closing with an orchestra.
Song lyrics cover Satanism, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy, raw and primitive sound with the bass guitar being mixed down low in the mix.
In my opinion Deiphago are a very great sounding bestial black/death/war metal band with the best music on the album and it you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Beast Of Annihilation". RECOMMENDED BUY.
Next up is Ritual Combat with the musical style being primitive black/war metal.
"Red In Blood And Death" starts off with heavy, primitive war metal riffs, and brutal blast beats which sets up the mood for the high pitched black metal screams while also switching back and forth between the fast and slow parts while also adding variety in the guitar riffing and towards the end of the song there is a brief use of dark sounding melodies.
"Black War 666" starts off with heavy and fast primitive black/war metal riffing, blast beats and high pitched black metal screams as the song moves on the riffing remains brutal while also using a variety of many different riffs as well as a small amount of melody.
Song lyrics cover Satanism and War themes, while the production has a very heavy, raw and primitive sound with the bass being mixed down low in the mix.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Ritual Combat and if you are a fan of black/war metal, you should check out their side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Black War 666". RECOMMENDED BUY.
In conclusion, I feel this is a v ery great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of bestial black/death and war metal. RECOMMENDED BUY.
