Abaddon are a band from Greece that plays a very raw and satanic form of black metal and this is a review of their self released 2014 ep "The Existence".
A very dark and ritualistic sounding intro starts off the ep and after the intro guitars are added into the music and slowly start taking the music into more of an old school black metal direction along with some screams and after awhile the music starts to incorporate a little bit more melody in the riffing.
Most of the songs stick to a slow or mid paced musical direction as well as being heavily influenced by the second wave bands of the early 90's and also bringing in a primitive aggression that has been missing in this genre for quite some time and as the ep progresses a small amount of keyboards are brought onto the recording and also creates more of an occult atmosphere.
Abaddon creates a style that is very heavily rooted in the early 90's tradition and focuses more on mid paced songs to bring in more of a satanic message, the production sounds very dark, raw and old school while the lyrics cover Satanism, Luciferian and Occult themes.
In my opinion Adaddon are a ver y great sounding raw, satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lucifer's Fall" and "The Satanic Beauty". 8 out of 10.
