This is a review of another lost demo from United Kingdom's Myrrdin which shows a raw approach to atmospheric black metal while also being experimental and the demo is called "Helebron" and also has an unreleased track from that time period.
A very dark sounding synth starts off the demo along with a touch of ambient and after the intro the music starts going into more of a raw and old school black metal sound while also bringing in an avant garde atmosphere and when vocals are added into the music they are grim sounding screams that are kind of mixed down low in the mix.
You can hear a decent amount of blast beats throughout the recording and when leads are added into the music they remain true to a raw black metal sound and a good portion of the tracks are also very long and epic in length and also bring in a small amount of melody at times and there is also mostly instrumental tracks along with some drones being added in on one of the songs and the last song also bring in acoustic guitars.
With this release Myrddin kept around some of the raw and atmospheric black metal sound but also adding in experimental and ambient elements, the production sounds very dark and raw while the song themes revolve around Persian Mythology and Nietzsche.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Myrrdin and if you are a fan of atmospheric black metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out the demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ogre" and "Ahura Mazda". 8 out of 10.
