This is a review of another demo from Scolopendra Cingulata which continues the raw black metal sound of the previous recording with the ep being released in 2014 by Grotesque Sounds and called "Sunrise".
A very dark, raw and almost punk like black metal sound starts off the demo along with some grim screams and the music brings in a heavy 90's feeling with its old school rawness and the music also brings in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with a great amount of blast beats being utilized at times.
Some of the tracks bring in a decent amount of morbid sounding melodies along with some atmospheric sounds being brought in at times as well as a brief use of keyboard which also bring a psychedelic feeling to one of the tracks but done in more of a primitive fashion and the fast riffs can also be very raw and lo-fi in a good amount of the songs and one of the later tracks also brings in a slight first wave black metal and thrash feeling.
Scolopendra Cingulata plays a style of black metal on this recording that is very raw and underground while still having a touch of melody and atmosphere, the production sounds very dark, raw and old school while the lyrics cover death, pain and hell.
In my opinion this is another great sounding demo from Scolopendra Cingulata and if you are a fan of raw black metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sunrise" "By Road Of The Beast" and "Bloody Feast". 8 out of 10.
