Doomsday Ceremony are a band from Brazil that plays black metal with a touch of doom and heavy metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Black Heart" which was released by Greyhaze Records.
A very heavy and atmospheric sound along with some keyboards start off the album and a few seconds later grim black metal screams make their presence known on the recording and the solos and leads bring in a very melodic and traditional metal feeling to the bands musical style while all of the instruments sound very powerful.
Spoken word parts can be heard in certain sections of the recording along with a great amount of 80's influences and when the music speeds up it starts bringing in more of a raw style of black metal along with some tremolo picking and a small amount of blast beats and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Spoken words can also be heard at times along with a couple of intros in between tracks that also bring in the atmosphere of a horror movie and keyboards also make a brief return before returning back to a heavier musical direction and the last track also brings in a small amount of clean playing while t he vocals also start using death metal growls.
Doomsday Ceremony plays a style of black metal that is very close to the 90's Greek style while also mixing in a lot of traditional metal elements to create a style of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Occultism themes.
In my opinion Doomsday Ceremony are a very great sounding black metal band with a touch of heavy metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Vultures Of War" "Slaves Of Sin" and "Fury". 8 out of 10.
