ProFanatism are a band with members from both Poland and Norway that has been featured before in this zine and plays a very raw and heavy form of black metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Hereticon" which was released by Under The Sign Of Garazel Productions.
Whispers and a militant style intro starts off the album along with some classical samples before going into a heavier and dark direction which also introduces melodic guitar leads onto the recording along with some grim black metal screams that also get very high pitched at times and blast beats can be heard when the music speeds up.
During the faster sections of the songs the music brings in more of a raw black metal style and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the spoken word parts when they are utilized give the music more of a ritualistic feeling and clean guitars can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and a later track also brings in a small amount of acoustic guitars.
ProFanatism creates a recording that remains true to the raw and heavy style of black metal from their previous release while also getting more experimental and adding in new things to their style, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in a mixture of English and Polish and cover dark, occult and anti Christianity themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from ProFanatism and if you are a fan of heavy, ritualistic, and aggressive black metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Darkness In The Eyes Of God" "Dance With A Serpents" and "Legion In My Soul". 8 out of 10.
