Decrepit Throne are a band with members from both New Jersey and North Carolina that plays a very aggressive form of black metal with a touch of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2017 album "Traitor's Grave".
Melodic guitar leads and heavy riffs start off the album and the riffing also brings in a great amount of melody and after awhile grim black metal screams are added onto the recording and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard and the music also mixes in a great amount of death metal influences.
When tremolo picking is utilized they give the songs a more raw black metal feeling and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the songs also bring in a great balance between both old school and modern influences and the music always sticks to a very heavy and dark musical direction.
Decrepit Throne plays a style of black metal that is very raw and aggressive while also adding in a touch of death metal, the production sounds very dark, raw and old school while the lyrics cover darkness, occultism, and L:uciferian themes.
In my opinion Decrepit Throne are a very great sounding dark and raw black metal band with a touch of death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lucifer's Descent" "Your Death My Solitude" and "A Defiant Flame Burning". 8 out of 10.
