Deathwinter are a band from Australia that plays a satanic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Manifestations Of Death" which was re-issued in 2017 by Iron, Blood & Death Corp.
Ritualistic soundscapes and melodic chants start off the album before going into a very fast and raw musical direction which also utilizes a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking along the riffing also using a great amount of blast beats while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams.
A great amount of 90's second weave influences can be heard in the bands musical style while the melodies bring in the darkness of the anti cosmic Swedish style and when solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic fashion and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as most of the tracks being very long and epic in length and there is also a brief use of war samples and as the album progresses a brief use of spoken word parts along with nature sounds can be heard briefly.
Deathwinter plays a style of satanic black metal that is very raw and melodic sounding in the Swedish tradition, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover Satanism, Luciferian, Darkness and War themes.
In my opinion Deathwinter are a very great sounding satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album, RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Sword Of Lucifer" "Cold Tarnished Metal" and "Blessed Satan, Storm Of Fire" 8 out of 10.
