Godhead Machinery are a band from Sweden that plays an extreme form of black metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Ouroboros" which will be released in September by Inverse Records.
Atmospheric synths and ritualistic chanting starts off the album along with some acoustic guitars a few seconds alter which also leads up to a heavier direction along with the riffs also bringing in a decent amount of melody and when guitar leads are utilized they are done in a very dark yet melodic fashion.
When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard along with the riffing also getting very technical at times and you can also hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording while the vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched black metal screams.
Death metal growls can also be heard at times and throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while spoken word samples can also be heard briefly and some of the fast riffs also use a decent amount of tremolo picking and the songs also bring in a decent mixture of both old school and modern influences and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length.
Godhead Machinery plays a musical style that is mostly rooted while also adding in some touches of death and other extreme forms of metal, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the ongoing religious and political corruption that swallows all that can be eaten in t he worlds.
In my opinion Godhead Machinery are a very great sounding extreme black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Plague" "Council Of Nicaea" and "Praise The Flesh". 8 out of 10.
