Italy's Aborym have returned with a new recording which shows the music moving away from black metal and adding in a more mainstream industrial metal/rock style that they are known for and this is a review of their 2017 ep "Something For Nobody Vol. 1" which will be released on November 19th by Dead Seed Productions and consists of re-mixes, live tracks and unreleased studio recordings.
Avant garde style keyboards start off the ep and after awhile elements of industrial and electronic music are added onto the recording while the first track is over 20 minutes in length along with a brief use of samples as well as one track introducing clean vocals unto the recording.
All of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them while the second track shows the music going into more of an industrial metal direction along with some influences from the more mainstream side of the genre and some of the tracks are also re-mixes and most of t he music sticks to a mid tempo direction.
On this recording Aborym continue moving away from black metal and focusing more on the industrial side of their music style as well as making the music more mainstream friendly, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark and real life themes.
In my opinion this is a decent recording from Aborym and while a lot of black metal fans would not like the new style, I can see this recording appealing to the more mainstream friendly industrial metal crowd. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "For A Better past" and "Deathwish". 7/5 out of 10.
