Eskhaton are a band from Australia that has had an album reviewed before in this zine and plays a bestial form of black/death metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Omegalitheos" which will be released in June by Lavadome Productions.
A very dark sound starts off the album before adding in brutal blast beats and fast war metal riffs while the vocals are a mixture of bestial growls and death metal screams as well as the solos and leads being done in a very raw yet chaotic style and the music also brings in a lot of influences from their home country.
A small amount of dark sounding melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing while the riffs also utilize a great amount of tremolo picking along with some tracks also bringing in a very ritualistic atmosphere as well as the music barely ever slowing down and the closing track is very long and epic in length.
Eskhaton creates another recording that remains true to the bestial black/death metal sound that was established on the previous release, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover nihilism, chaos, death and occultism themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Eskhaton and if you are a fan of bestial black/death metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Serpentity" "Culthulhunatic" "Blasphemartyr" and "Kimah Kalu Utu Ulla". 8 out of 10.
