Blood Of Serpents are a band from Sweden that plays a Swedish style of black metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Sulphur Sovereign" which will be released in September by Non Serviam Records.
Militant drum beats start off the album before adding some melodic guitar leads onto the recording which also takes the music into a heavier direction while the faster sections of t he songs also use a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the songs a more raw feeling.
Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while the riffs also bring in a great amount of dark sounding melodies along with the music also being very heavily rooted in the Swedish style as well as the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and as the album progresses melodic chants can also be heard briefly and they also give the music more of a ritualistic feeling, keyboards and spoken word parts are also used briefly before returning back to a heavier direction.
Blood Of Serpents plays a musical style that is very heavily rooted in the Swedish black metal style, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism and Blasphemy themes.
In my opinion Blood Of Serpents are a very great sounding Swedish black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "In Darkness Brotherhood" "As The Temple Burns" "Upon Water Darks" and "A Void Between Worlds". 8 out of 10.
