Cavemaster are a band from Portugal that plays a very raw and misanthropic form of black metal and this is a review of their 2018 album "Exumacao" which will be released in November by Fatsounds Productions.
Sounds of war start off the album before going into more of a heavier direction while the faster sections of the songs also use a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling along with the vocals being mostly high pitched black metal screams.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them along with some synths also being used quite a bit throughout the recording as well as a brief use of spoken word samples and the music also has a great amount of 90's influences.
One track also brings in a brief use of acoustic guitars while elements of dsbm are also utilized at times along with a couple of the tracks being very long and epic in length and when guitar leads are utilized they are done in a very raw and melodic style and as the album progresses female vocals can also be heard briefly.
Cavemaster plays a style of black metal that is very raw and misanthropic sounding while the atmospheric synths makes the music stand out a lot more, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Portuguese and cover anti humanism, nihilism and hate against religion themes.
In my opinion Cavemaster are a very great sounding raw and misanthropic black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Apenas a Morte" "Respiro Morto" "Odio da Humanidade" and "Esperanca Perdida". 8 out of 10.
