Light Of Death are a band from Bolivia that plays a very raw, depressive and avant garde form of black metal and this is a review of their 2014 demo "Grim Gardens" which was released by Arts Metal.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the demo along with some tortured black metal vocals a few seconds later which also gives the music more of a depressive edge while the music also brings in avant garde along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them.
A lot of the music has its roots in the early 2000's third wave style of black metal while the solos and leads are done in a very raw and melodic style when they are utilized along with the vocals also bringing in a decent amount of high pitched screams and when the music finally speeds up tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard and also gives the song more of a raw feeling, the riffs also bring in a small amount of depressive sounding melodies and clean playing is added onto the closing track.
Light Of Death plays a style of black metal that is very dark, raw, depressive and avant garde sounding, the production sounds very dark, raw and lo-fi while the lyrics cover death, solitude and darkness themes.
In my opinion Light Of Death are a very great sounding raw, depressive and avant garde black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Selfdestruction" and "The Pendulum Of The End". 8 out of 10.
