Mo'ynog are a band from Raleigh, North Carolina that plays a very atmospheric and progressive form of post black metal and this is a review of their self released album "Dreaming in A Dead Language" which will be released in 2019.
A very fast and raw sound starts off the album along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats while the vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and the songs also add in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Some of the tracks are very long and epic in length while the solos and leads are done in a very melodic style along with the riffs also adding in a great amount of melody as well as the music also getting very atmospheric and progressive at times and as the album progresses a piano instrumental is added onto the recording before returning back to a heavier direction on the remaining tracks and a later song also adds in a brief use of acoustic guitars and at times the vocals also get very deep.
Mo'Ynog plays a style of post black metal that is very melodic and progressive while also being very raw at the same time, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Mo'ynog are a very great sounding atmospheric and progressive post black metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Empyreal Decay" "Carve My Name" and "Buried By Regret". 8 out of 10.
