Zohamah are a band from Israel that plays a mixture of depressive black, doom and death metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Spreading my Ashes" which will be released in February by Redefining Darkness Records.
Nature sounds start off the album before going into more of a heavier and slower doom metal direction which also introduces high pitched depressive black metal screams onto the recording along with the riffs also bringing in a great amount of dark sounding melodies and the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style.
Acoustic guitars can also be heard at times along with a brief use of whispered vocals while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them as well as the faster sections of the songs also adding in a great amount of blast beats and death metal elements and as the album progresses they also bring an instrumental onto the recording before closing with another vocal track.
Zohamah plays a musical style that takes depressive black, doom and death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Darkness, Depression, Kaballah, and Occultism themes.
In my opinion Zohomah are a very great sounding mixture of depressive black, doom and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "New World" "Black Cloud" and "Zohamah". 8 out of 10.
