Black Crucifixion are a band from Finland that plays a very diverse form of occult form of black metal which also mixes in other genres and this is a review of their 2019 album "Lightless Violent Chaos" which will be released in June by Seance Records.
Whispers and ritualistic sounds start off the album while the bass guitars have a very powerful sound to them. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic style while the vocals bring in more of a first wave era black metal style and the riffs also use a great amount of melody.
When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can also be heard which also gives the music more of a raw feeling. Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
Clean playing and acoustic guitars can also be heard in some parts of the music while the music also mixes in elements of goth metal, ambient and progressive rock at times along with some clean vocals also being utilized on some tracks. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Occultism and Philosophical themes.
In my opinion Black Crucifixion are a great sounding mixture of occult black and goth metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Black Hole Metal" "Of The Godless And Brave" and "Intuition". 8 out of 10.
