Aima are a band from Greece that plays a bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their 2019 album "Tragos" which will be released in June by Nuclear War Now! Productions.
Death metal influenced riffing and bestial growls start off the album along with some dark sounding melodies also being used at times. When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats and war metal elements can also be heard while grim black metal screams are also added into some parts of the music.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. When tremolo picking is utilized it also gives the songs more of a raw feeling along with the solos and leads also adding in more of a chaotic black/death metal style and the music also brings in a great amount of 90's influences but keeping it modern.
One track also introduces spoken word parts onto the recording while the solos and leads also have their dark and melodic moments as the album progresses along with all of the musical instruments also having a very powerful sound to them. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover darkness, violence and occultism themes.
In my opinion Aima are a very great sounding bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Goatfuck Redemption" "Possessed Preacher" and "Hands In Blood". 8 out of 10.
