Kassad are a band from the United Kingdom that has been featured before in this zine and plays an atmospheric form of post black metal and this is a review of their album "London Orbital" which will be released in 2020 by Hypnotic Dirge Records.
Field recordings start off the album along with some atmospheric sounding drones before introducing clean playing onto the recording. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic post rock style as well as most of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while all of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them. The songs also mix the heavy and atmospheric parts together along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody, a couple of the tracks are also instrumentals.
As the album progresses a brief use of clean vocals can also be heard along with all of the music sticking to either a slow or mid tempo style as well as some synths are also added into certain sections of the recording. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover modern urban living themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Kassad and if you are a fan of atmospheric post black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Boundary" and "The Hollow". 8 out of 10.
