In Crucem Agare are a duo from Austria that plays a very dissonant and progressive form of black metal and this is a review of t heir 2021 album "Calling The Void" which will be released on October 22nd by Code666.
Drum beats start off the album along with some heavier riffing a few seconds later while the riffs also add in a decent amount of dissonant structures. Some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length as well as some of the tracks also being very long and epic in length and dark sounding melodies are also added into riffs.
Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams while the solos and leads also b ring in more of a dissonant style. The music also has its progressive moments along with the faster sections of the songs also adding in a decent amount of blast beats as well as some growls also being added into some parts of the songs.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with one song also adding in a brief use of spoken word parts. Clean playing can also be heard on some of the tracks as well as the tremolo picking also giving the music more of a raw feeling when it is utilized. melodic vocals can also be heard on one of songs, atmospheric soundscapes can also be heard at time and the album also h as its avant garde moments. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover the human abysses and the darkness in man.
In my opinion In Crucem Agare are a very great sounding dissonant and progressive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Gods Sent No Sign" and "The Bicameral Mind". 8 out of 10.
