K Amon K are a band from France that plays an atmospheric mixture of black metal and blackgaze and this is a review of their 2021 album "Arca Ende Aeterna" which will be released in November by Code666.
A very fast, raw and melodic sound starts off the album along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Most of the tracks are also very long and epic in length while the vocals are mostly angry sounding black metal screams and the music also gets very atmospheric sounding at times.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of the musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. Synths can also be heard in some parts of the recording along with some tracks also adding in a decent amount of clean playing.
Elements of shoegaze and psychedelia can also be heard in certain sections of the album along with the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic post metal style when they are utilized as well as the vocals also adding in a semi clean approach briefly. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in French and cover personal journeys.
In my opinion K Amon K are a very great sounding atmospheric mixture of post black emtal and blackgaze and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Le Bruit et I'Enfer" "Voyageurs" and "Le Serpent dans I'Eclipse". 8 out of 10.
