Alone are a solo project from Toronto, Ontario, Canada that has recently been featured in this zine and on this recording goes for a progressive mixture of black and heavy metal and this is a review of his self released 2022 single "V-The Village".
A very distorted sound starts off the song before going into a heavier direction while the track is also over 10 minutes in length. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams along with the music also mixing in a good amount of progressive structures and traditional metal elements. Melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing and when the music speeds up a decent amount o blast beats and tremolo picking can also be heard as well as some clean playing also being utilized briefly.
On this song Alone takes his music into more of a progressive black metal direction. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover village themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding track from Alone and if you are a fan of progressive black metal, you should check out this single. 8 out of 10.
