Sangre Negra are a band from Chile that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays a very raw form of black metal and this is a review of their 2016 ep "Bruma Primigenia" which will be re-issued on June 24th , 2022 by Wet Cassettes.
A very fast and raw sound starts off the ep along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals range from deep growls to high pitched black metal screams while the music also adds in a decent amount of old school influences and a small amount of dark sounding melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of mid paced and fast parts as well as adding some slower riffing and death metal influences on the closing song while all of the musical instruments on the ep also have a very powerful sound to them and all of t he music sticks to a heavier direction.
On this recording Sangre Negra went for more of a raw style of black metal that was a little bit different from the full length which was released a few years later. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in Spanish and cover War, Destruction, Ancient Mapuche Culture and Nature themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Sangre Negra and if you are a fan of raw black metal, you should check out this re-issue. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ritual de fuego" and "Bruma primigenia". 8 out of 10.
