This is a review of another recording from Germany's Traumen Von Aurora which is also in the avant garde and progressive style of post black metal and the album will be released in August by Trollzorn Records and is called "Aurora".
Dark sounding keyboards start off the album and also mixes in with the heavier sections of the songs at times. Clean playing can also be heard on some of the tracks while the music also brings in a great amount of post rock elements and all of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them.
The riffs also add in a great amount of melody while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style. Vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched black metal screams along with the music also having its progressive moments as well as some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length.
Spoken word parts and whispers can also be heard in certain sections of the recording along with the songs also adding in some avant garde touches at times. Clean vocals are also added on some of the tracks as well as most of the tracks also sticking to either a slow or mid tempo direction except for the closing song which is also an instrumental and adds in a brief use of fast tremolo picking and blast beats. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in German and cover depression and nature themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Traument Von Aurora and if you are a fan of avant garde and progressive post black metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Gram und Verde" and ...kann eines Lichtes Flackern truben". 8 out of 10.
