Xenomorph are a solo project from Cincinnati, Ohio that has been featured before in this zine and plays a very raw and nihilistic form of black metal and this is a review of his self released 2022 demo "Nihilistic Rustbelt Black Metal II".
Horror movie samples start of f the demo before going into a heavier musical direction while t he faster sections of the songs also ad d in a lot of tremolo picking and blast beats which also gives the recording more of a raw feeling. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal s creams and melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very dark yet melodic style while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Spoken word parts can also be heard briefly along with the music also showing some influences of both the modern and old school era's of the genre and the demo closes with a cover of Gorgoroth's "Possessed By Satan".
On this recording Xenomorph takes the songs he recorded for his 2021 demo and re-records them updating them with the sound he originally intended for the tracks. The production sounds very dark and r aw while the lyrics cover nihilism, oppression and Satanism themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Xenomorph and if you are a fan of raw and nihilistic black metal, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Die Kraft Arbeit" and "Broken paradigm Of Worth". 8 out of 10.
