This is a review of another recording from Sweden's solo project Enki which continues the shows the music going for more of an instrumental depressive rock style with some touches of dsbm from his previous release and the album was self released in 2022 and called "Say Goodbye To Life".
Atmospheric sounding synths starts off the album while the first song is also an instrumental before introducing clean playing onto the recording. Melodies can also be heard in some of the heavier riffing along with all of the drum b eats also being programmed and the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style.
A great portion of the tracks are also instrumentals that focus mostly on clean sections which also adds in some touches of depressive rock. On the later tracks the music also starts going into a heavier direction along with all of the music sticking to a slower direction and the closing track also adds in some high pitched depressive black metal screams.
On this recording Enki focuses more an a depressive rock style as well as keeping some of the dsbm elements that where presented on the previous release while the production sounds very dark and raw.
In my opinion t his is another great sounding album from Enki and if you are a fan of depressive rock and depressive suicidal black metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "On A Razorbed So Sweet" "Just Shoot me" and "Everything Is Tearing me Apart". 8 out of 10.
