This is a review of another recording from Atlanta, Georgia's solo project Isleptonthemoon which showed the music going for more of a depressive style of post black metal and the ep was released in 2016 and called "Help Me Off The Ground".
Acoustic guitars start off the ep before going into a heavier direction while the vocals are mostly high pitched depressive black metal screams. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic post metal style along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody.
Most of the music also sticks to either a slow or mid tempo direction along with some programmed beats also being utilized at times along with one of the songs also being an instrumental and the music also has its atmospheric moments.
On this recording Isleptonthemoon focused more on a slow or mid tempo style of depressive post black metal. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover depression and melancholy themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Isleptonthemoon and if you are a fan of atmospheric and depressive post black metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Moongazer" and "I Deserve This". 8 out of 10.
