Lesath are a solo project from India that plays an atmospheric mixture of post black metal and blackgaze and this is a review of his 2023 album "There is A Profound Sense In Which We Are Isolated" which was released as a joint effort between Fiadh Productions and Vita Detestabilis Records.
Atmospheric sounding synths start off the album while also bringing in elements of post rock to the recording and also mixing in with the heavier sections of the songs at times. Influences of shoegaze can also0 be heard quite a bit throughout the recording and a lot of the vocals are also done in more of a clear style.
All of the tracks are also very long and epic in length whil3e the music also brings in the heaviness of post black metal One of the tracks also b rings in a brief use of acoustic guitars along with all of the drum beats also being programmed and all of the music sticks to a slower direction, high pitched screams can also be heard briefly and the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style.
Lesath plays a musical style that takes atmospheric black metal, shoegaze and post rock and mixes them together to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover isolation and melancholy themes.
In my opinion Lesath is a very great sounding atmospheric mixture of post black metal and blackgaze and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Gilded Misery" and "There is A Profound Sense In Which We Are Isolated". 8 out of 10.
