Unholy Craft are a solo project from Norway that plays a very raw and old school form of black metal and this is a review of his 2023 album "Naar All Tid Er Omme" which will b e released on February 27th by Purity Through Fire.
A very dark, heavy and melodic sound starts off the album along with some high pitched black metal screams a few seconds later. When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats and tremolo picking which also gives the songs more of a raw feeling and the recording is also very heavily rooted in the 90's Norwegian style,.
All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Synths and soundscapes can also be heard in certain sections of the album along with the music also adding in some more modern influences at times and when guitar leads are utilized briefly they are done in a very chaotic style, melodic chants can also be heard on one song and the recording closes with an instrumental.
Unholy Craft plays a style of black metal that is very raw and old school in the 90's second wave Norwegian tradition. The production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics are written in a mixture of Norwegian and English and cover darkness, death and hate themes.
In my opinion Unholy Craft are a very great sounding raw and old school black metal solo project and if you are a f an of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Vitriolic Winds Of hate" "We Are Your Death" and "As I Glaze Upon The End". 8 out of 10.
