Eternity are a band from Norway that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays a more traditional style of Norwegian black metal and this is a review of their 2023 album "Mundicide" which will be released in July by Soulseller Records.
A very fast and raw sound starts off the album along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast b eats. Melodies are also added into a lot of the guitar riffing while the vocals are mostly grim yet high pitched sounding black metal screams and the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style.
Most of the music also shows influences of both the modern and old school Norwegian style while the songs also add in a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts. Some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with one song also introducing clear vocals into the music.
Synths can also be heard briefly and when guitar solos and leads are finally utilized they are also done in a very melodic style, spoken word parts can also be heard briefly. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written written in English along with one song being written in Norwegian and cover apocalypse, plague and black magick themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Eternity and if you are a fan of Norwegian black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Journey Towards The Darkside" "Hymn" and "The Seventh Seal". 8 out of 10.
