Clactonian are an international band with members from Italy and Finland and plays an old school and bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and this is a review of their self released 2024 demo "Dea Madre" which will be released in July.
A very fast, raw and brutal war metal sounds starts off the demo along with a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats. Vocals are a mixture of black metal screams and bestial growls while the solos and leads are also done in a very chaotic style as well as the demo also being very heavily rooted in the old school era.
Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts while all of t he musical instruments also have a very powerful sound to them. the whole demo also sticks to a heavier direction and the closing track is a Von cover.
Clactonian plays a musical style that goes back to the classic era of war, black and death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very raw and old school while the lyrics cover the ancient Stone Age and Paleolithic era.
In my opinion Clactonian are a very great sounding old school and bestial mixture of war, black and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Bone Ritual" and "White Thunder". 8 out of 10.
