Eternal Dissonance Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the solo project? Hello, first of all thanks a lot for this interview and interest in this project, it means a lot. Eternal Dissonance is a One Man band, an instrumental Atmospheric black metal project from Mallorca (Spain). Formed back in 2019, where I can reflect one of my personal visions of music, in a more ambiental, melancholic and nostalgic way. 2.In June you have a new album coming out, musically how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past? I like to think it’s an evolution of the previous stuff, production has improved a lot since the first album and I try to evolve in that aspect with every new work. In terms of composition, while the first album (Winds of Melancholy) was more in the vein of ambient/atmospheric black metal and the second EP (Enlightened Passage) was more “post rock’, this new Album is a mix of those styles where I blend aggression and epicness of black metal and the melancholy and dynamics of Post-rock. 3.You also have a background playing death metal, do you consider yourself a very diverse musician when it comes to playing different extreme metal genres? Yes I am in two Death metal projects, Neglected and Xenoautopsy. I love extreme metal, Death Metal and Black Metal are my main genres. If I had time I would be in much more projects! 4.So far with this project all of the music has been instrumental, are you open to using vocals or lyrics on future releases? Absolutely, if the time comes and the song calls for vocals, of course. 5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Eternal Dissonance'? It doesn’t have an special meaning, it just appeared and thought it was a well fitting name for the project and the music it represents. 6.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover/ The artwork was made by Gragoth of Luciferium Graphics, he also made the artwork for the album Lost in Uncertainty of my other black metal project Wounded Soul. It represents the nature and a path to the infinite, which represents the Album title “Through the Endless” 7.With this project you record everything by yourself but have experience working with other musicians in other bands, do you prefer to work solo? It depends, working solo is cool because you have control over everything and there’s no pressure, working with other musicians can be harder because there are more minds and ideas on the project… but on the other hand you learn a lot from them and playing with people it’s really cool and fun, instead of playing only by yourself. 8.On a worldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of black metal? I know Eternal Dissonance it’s not that classical black metal, but overall it has good reviews and it seems that people like the music, couldn’t be happier about that. 9.What is going on with some of the other bands or musical projects these days that you are a part of? A lot of work! A month ago the Slamming Brutal Death Metal project Xenoautopsy released it’s debut album “Irreversible Anthropocide” via “Inherited Suffering Records” And with the Brutal Death metal band Neglected (which we play Live) we are taking some time to compose our debut album (we already have an EP called “Acts of Depravity”, released via Brutal Mind) which we plan to hit the studio at the start of 2026. Lastly, Wounded Soul, we have some material for our second album, but nothing finished yet. 10.Where do you see yourself heading into as a musician during the future? I hope releasing a lot of music and play live in a lot of places! 11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays? I really take inspiration from post black metal and Depressive Black metal mainly, such as bands like Der Weg Einer Freiheit, Advent Sorrow, Deafheaven, Sunken… And nowadays I'm mainly listening to a mix of Black and Death metal such as Psychonaut 4, Soulless, Defeated Sanity, Gorgasm… 12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts? Just Wanted to thank you guys for the interest and also to the people that keeps supporting my music and takes the time to give it a listen!
