1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the musical project?
1. Nothing special, the idea to play atmospheric black metal appeared in 2019. I was always interested in slow monotonous music such as doom, stoner, pagan, dark ambient, drone. I used to play black metal as a teenager, it was more Immortal or Dark Funeral oriented stuff with fast tempo and permanent blast beats. Krsnī happened as an homage to Drudkh and Burzum with own vision.
2.In May you had released a new album, musically how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?
2. We recorded four albums with slavonic influence both in music and lyrics. We just released Vesno and I hadn’t plans to write any new material. However, one day while jamming I wrote all the riffs for upcoming album :) And I realised that it should be different but still in Krsnī style, so it is. The emphasis is on integrity, monotony and the gradual development of musical ideas within each track. Guitars sound abrasive without a cabinet simulator, bass and kick drum are deep while vocals and clean guitar have thinner sound.
3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band has explored over the years with your music?
3. Lyrics are about nature in different aspects. Our texts are simple and figurative.
4.I know that the bands name means 'night' in Sanskrit, how does this name fit in with the musical style that yuo play?
4. Band name is also inspired by Drudkh which means “forest” in Sanskrit. Also we chose this language as it influenced old Slavonic languages. Night is considered to be a quieter time of a day with less visible movement but it only seems that way. As our music, especially on the last album.
5.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork that is presented on the new album cover?
5. Cover art represents winterstorm.
6.Currentyl there are only 2 members in the band, are you open to expanding the line up or do you prefer to remain a duo?
6. The thing is in our country black metal is not a popular genre that’s why we can’t find skilled like-minded drummer for live gigs. We’d like to of course.
7.The new album was released through both ;Satanath Records' and 'The End Of Time Records', are you happy with the support both labels have given you so far?
7. Certainly, this is a good collaboration. It's great that we’re on the same page.
8.On a wrldwide level how has the reaction been to your music by fans of atmospheric black metal?
8. There are not so much reviews of our albums in the web. The majority of them are positive enough. We believe in our music and would not share weak stuff just to release anything.
9.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
9. It’s a difficult question. Maybe we’ll continue our experiments with raw atmospheric black metal, maybe this album would be our last, who knows.
10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
10. Personally nowadays I’m in blackened crust, nordic techno and french black metal, Kurgan prefers death metal, fusion and grindcore.
11.What are some of your non musical interests?
11. Nature is my passion as well as history.
12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
12. Keep listening to the music you like and don't get caught up in passing trends.
