Duirvoir are a band from Italy that plays a mixture of atmospheric black and doom metal and this is a review of their self released 2018 ep "Endless Graves, Endless Memories".
Acoustic guitar playing starts off the ep and they also mix into the heavier sections of t he music at times which also introduces grim black metal screams onto the recording along with some whispers also being added into some parts of the music and all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them.
A couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length while elements of doom metal are also added into the slower sections of the music along with some clean vocals also being used at times along with the solos and leads being done in a very melodic and atmospheric style, the acoustic guitars also gives the tracks more of a progressive feeling as well as the music also adding in elements of post metal and when the music speeds up briefly tremolo picking and blast beats can also be heard which also gives the music more of a raw feeling.
Duirvoir plays a musical style that takes atmospheric black metal and mixes it with doom metal to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover death, nature, north, winter and ancient themes.
In my opinion Duirvoir are a very great sounding atmospheric mixture of black and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Autumnal lethargy" and "Haggard Sin". 8 out of 10.
