Thronum Vrondor are a band from Belgium that plays a very aggressive form of black metal and this is a review of their album "Ichor (The Rebellion)" which will be reelased in 2019 by Pulverized Records.
A very dark sounding intro starts off the album before going into more of a heavier and atmospheric musical direction along with some synths also being used at times while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them as well as the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style.
When the music speeds up a great amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can be heard which also gives the music more of a raw feeling while the vocals are mostly grim black metal screams that also utilize melodic singing at times as well as the songs also bringing in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
A couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length while spoken word parts can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and as the album progresses a brief use of acoustic guitars can also be heard along with the riffs also adding in a decent amount of melody as well as bringing in a brief instrumental before returning back to a heavier direction on the following tracks.
Thronum Vrondor plays a style of black metal that is very raw and aggressive sounding while also having its atmospheric moments, the production sounds very raw and heavy while the lyrics cover apocalyptic themes..
In my opinion Thronum Vrondor are a very great sounding atmospheric and aggressive black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "A Symbol Of Acrimony" "Diety" and "The Last Specs Of A Dying Light". 8 out of 10.
