Finland's solo project Nobody has returned with another recording which shows the music going for a folk rock direction with some touches of black metal and this is a review of his 2021 album "Another World" which was released by Inverse Records.
Acoustic guitars which also adds in a good mixture of finger picking and full chords start off the album and also brings in elements of folk rock while programmed drum beats can also be heard at times. Clear vocals are also a very huge part of the recording and the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style.
The music is adds in a good amount of 60's and 70's influences while some tracks also add in a small amount of spoken word parts. One song also introduces keyboards into the music which also gives the recording more diversity along with the music also adding in some clean electric guitars at times, folk instruments can also be heard briefly and as the album progresses a small amount of black metal elements can also be heard and the songs also start going into more of a psychedelic hard rock direction.
On this recording Nobody takes folk and 60's rock and mixes it in with the dark atmosphere of black metal to create something very different from previous releases. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover Occultism and Drug themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Nobody and if you are a fan of folk rock with a touch of black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Three Little Witches" "The mad Monk" "Panic Attack" and "Snake Queen". 8 out of 10.
